Cron job failed deleting old profiles

We had a problem with the weekly cron job that checks member activity and deletes inactive profiles and expiring top memberships. Some of you were lucky to get free weeks of top-membership while the memberlist showed too many inactive profiles. I am sorry for that, we try to find the reason why the automatic job denied it's service.
