Auf der Suche nach einer englischen Übersetzung für "Essiggurke" bin ich auf folgende Story gestossen:

Ein Bayer will im Hotel über den Zimmerservice ein Sandwich bestellen...
"...with cheese, ham, and a görkerl. Görkerl. You know Essig- ähm acid görkerl? It swims in the glass with the other görkerls!
