58% say yes to the Swiss partnership law

The Swiss partnership law has been accepted by the Swiss citizen 1'557'672 (58,0 %) Yes vs. 1'126'578 (42,0 %) No. Switzerland is the first country where the partnership of homosexuals has been accepted by the nation in a public voting. So the new law get's a strong symbolic meaning for the acceptance of our way of life.

	Hello Stone I followed the votes for prop 8 because a friend of ours lives in L.A. I also wrote an article about it in the german part of this forum and I am very disappointed about California - I always thought that it was one of the most progressive states in the U.S. When looking at Switzerland its also interesting to look at the time after we got our partnership law. I did a resume about that in this article. On one side we got more legal rights and on the other side we lost much freedom inside the gay scene 'cause everything is open now and everyone is watching and judgeing us.16 years ago
	Thats great! I wish you guys all the luck. As you know here in New York...we're still trying. California just passed Prop 8 which invalidated gay marriages ( again ) in California. Its being fought though. So far Gays can only get married in Mass. And Conn., Here in the States. Congratulations again....and good luck! Muah! Stone16 years ago
